Just a Family Building This From the Ground Up.
Ruby Thrift isn't a giant chain. There isn't a corporate office somewhere deciding what our store should be. We're building this ourselves — with the help of our donors, our shoppers, our local community, and the people who believe that secondhand can be something special. We're going to learn as we go. We'll try things. We'll change things. We'll listen. And hopefully, we'll build something that gets a little better with every year we're here. We're putting everything we have into creating a place that we genuinely love to come to work, and a place that our community is glad to have — for reasons that go far beyond simply having another store nearby.
We want Ruby Thrift to feel like a place that belongs to the community. A place where people can find good things at good prices, where donations can have a second life, where unexpected connections can happen, and where we can find ways to give back as we grow. We're really glad you're here at the beginning. ❤️

Good things shouldn't stop being useful just because someone no longer needs them.
A jacket can become someone's favorite jacket. A table can become part of someone's first home. A book can end up in a classroom. A toy can make a child smile. And something that has been sitting in someone's closet for years might be exactly what someone else has been looking for. But we want Ruby Thrift to be about more than the things on our shelves. We want it to feel a little like the neighborhood grocery stores of another time — the kind of place where you could run in for a few things and end up running into your neighbor down the street. You'd stop, say hello, catch up for a few minutes, and maybe leave knowing a little more about what's happening around the neighborhood. That's the kind of place we hope Ruby Thrift can become. A place where you can come in to hunt for a great find, drop off a donation, or simply bump into someone you know. A place where conversations happen, neighbors become familiar faces, and people feel connected to the community around them. And we want the shopping experience to feel different, too. We don't want Ruby Thrift to feel like a warehouse where you have to dig through mountains of stuff hoping you'll eventually find something good. What you see on our shelves is there intentionally. Donations are thoughtfully sorted. Items are carefully selected for the store. And we want things to be purposely displayed so that the experience of shopping Ruby Thrift feels more like discovering than digging.
That doesn't mean you'll know exactly what you'll find when you walk through the door — the surprise is part of the fun. You might find vintage pieces next to modern ones, Y2K alongside everyday essentials, something beautiful next to something completely ridiculous. We want there to be plenty to explore without making you feel like you have to fight your way through a pile to find the good stuff. Organized enough to actually shop. Unexpected enough to keep you looking.
Because we want Ruby Thrift to become a staple in our community — not just another store people go in and out of. A place where you find something you love.

Ruby Thrift is a locally owned thrift store in the Sun City/Peoria community, bringing together secondhand clothing, home goods, furniture, vintage finds, Y2K pieces, collectibles, and all the wonderfully unexpected things you can discover while thrifting. We're here to keep good things moving — and hopefully, bring people together while we're doing it. ❤️

We wanted to create a place where things that still have plenty of life left in them could find new homes — and where people could find great stuff without spending a fortune. But as we started bringing Ruby Thrift to life, we realized we wanted it to be about more than the things on the shelves. We want it to feel like the kind of neighborhood store where you come in looking for a lamp and leave with a conversation. Where you run into a neighbor, discover something completely unexpected, or find the perfect piece for a special moment in your life. Every item has a story. Every donation helps write a new one. And every person who walks through our doors becomes part of ours.
