Effective Date: October 3, 2026
Ruby Thrift respects your privacy and is committed to being transparent about how information is collected, used, and shared when you visit our website, communicate with us, subscribe to our newsletter, interact with our marketing, or otherwise use Ruby Thrift services.
This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices of Ruby Thrift in connection with the Ruby Thrift website and related online services.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, you may contact us at support@rubythrift.com.
1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with Ruby Thrift.
Information You Provide to Us
You may provide information directly to Ruby Thrift when you:
- subscribe to our newsletter;
- contact us or submit an inquiry;
- communicate with Ruby Thrift regarding donations, shopping, partnerships, vendor opportunities, community programs, or other services;
- interact with forms or other features on our website.
Depending on the interaction, this information may include:
- your name;
- email address;
- information included in messages or form submissions;
- communication preferences;
- newsletter consent information;
- information reasonably necessary to respond to your request.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information through general website forms unless Ruby Thrift specifically requests it for a legitimate purpose.
2. Newsletter and Email Marketing
Ruby Thrift offers an email newsletter that may include store updates, new finds, donation information, promotions, live shopping information, community news, and other Ruby Thrift content.
When you subscribe, we may collect information such as:
- your email address;
- your name, if provided;
- the date and time of your subscription;
- the page or source from which you subscribed;
- information showing that you agreed to receive marketing communications;
- technical information associated with the submission, such as IP address and browser or device information.
Ruby Thrift currently uses Brevo as an email marketing service provider. Information necessary to manage newsletter subscriptions and send email communications may therefore be processed by Brevo on our behalf.
When a qualifying newsletter signup is measured as an advertising conversion, the email address provided during signup may also be used for advertising measurement through technologies such as Google Ads Enhanced Conversions and Meta Advanced Matching, as described below.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link contained in our emails or by contacting Ruby Thrift.
Transactional or service-related communications may still be sent when necessary even if you unsubscribe from promotional emails.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Ruby Thrift website, certain technical and usage information may be collected automatically.
This may include:
- IP address;
- browser type;
- device type;
- operating system;
- pages viewed;
- referring website or source;
- approximate geographic information derived from technical data;
- dates and times of visits;
- interactions with website features;
- session information;
- traffic-source and campaign information;
- browser or advertising identifiers;
- other technical information normally transmitted when using a website.
We use this information to operate, secure, understand, and improve the Ruby Thrift website and our marketing efforts.
4. Google Analytics
Ruby Thrift uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website.
Google Analytics may collect information about website activity such as:
- pages viewed;
- session activity;
- referral sources;
- traffic channels;
- device and browser information;
- engagement with website features;
- newsletter signup events;
- campaign-page activity;
- other interactions configured for analytics measurement.
Ruby Thrift may use this information to understand which pages are useful, how visitors find us, which marketing efforts perform well, and how our website can be improved.
For example, Ruby Thrift may measure whether a visitor arrived from organic search, another website, social media, an advertising campaign, an email, or another source.
Ruby Thrift does not intentionally send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, or similar directly identifying information to Google Analytics as part of our custom analytics events.
Google may process information in accordance with its own privacy policies and terms.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Ruby Thrift and service providers that support our website may use cookies, local storage, pixels, tags, scripts, browser identifiers, and similar technologies.
These technologies may be used for purposes such as:
- maintaining website functionality;
- remembering technical preferences;
- protecting forms and website services;
- measuring website traffic and engagement;
- understanding how visitors reached Ruby Thrift;
- measuring marketing and advertising performance;
- creating or measuring advertising audiences;
- attributing website activity to advertising interactions;
- preventing abuse or fraud.
Some browser settings allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling certain technologies may affect how some website features function and may reduce our ability to measure advertising activity.
More information is available in our Cookie & Tracking Technologies Policy.
6. Advertising and Marketing Technologies
Ruby Thrift may use online advertising services to promote our stores, donation opportunities, events, content, products, or services.
These services may include platforms such as:
- Google Ads;
- Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram;
- TikTok;
- Microsoft;
- Pinterest;
- other advertising or marketing platforms we may use in the future.
Advertising providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, browser identifiers, device information, or similar technologies to:
- measure advertising performance;
- attribute visits or conversions to advertising campaigns;
- create or measure advertising audiences;
- remarket to prior visitors where permitted;
- exclude people from campaigns when appropriate;
- improve campaign optimization and reporting.
Where these technologies are used, information may include website activity, browser or device information, referral information, advertising identifiers, and interactions with advertisements or Ruby Thrift pages.
Ruby Thrift does not intend to provide advertising platforms with directly identifying information through ordinary website analytics or custom event parameters except where a specific supported advertising feature lawfully uses first-party information for matching or measurement.
7. Google Ads Enhanced Conversions
Ruby Thrift uses Google Ads Enhanced Conversions to improve measurement of qualifying website conversions, including newsletter signups.
When this feature is used, first-party information that a visitor provides directly to Ruby Thrift, such as an email address submitted during newsletter signup, may be provided to Google through an approved Google tag implementation for advertising measurement.
Google uses Enhanced Conversion data to help associate qualifying conversions with Google advertising interactions and improve conversion attribution and measurement.
User-provided data used for Enhanced Conversions is normalized and hashed through Google's supported implementation before or as part of Google's processing for matching.
Ruby Thrift currently uses email address data for the newsletter-signup Enhanced Conversion flow.
Enhanced Conversion email data is separate from Ruby Thrift's custom Google Analytics events. Ruby Thrift does not intentionally include subscriber email addresses in those custom analytics events.
8. Meta Pixel and Browser-Side Measurement
Ruby Thrift uses the Meta Pixel to measure website activity associated with Facebook and Instagram advertising.
The Meta Pixel may receive information including:
- page views;
- website URLs;
- browser and device information;
- IP address;
- user-agent information;
- Meta browser identifiers;
- advertising-interaction information;
- specifically configured website events.
Ruby Thrift configures important advertising events intentionally rather than relying on Meta to automatically determine every meaningful business action on our website.
For example, Ruby Thrift currently sends a Meta Lead event only after the Ruby Thrift website confirms that a genuinely new newsletter subscription has succeeded.
Merely clicking a newsletter button does not constitute a confirmed Lead event.
Ruby Thrift has also configured the Meta Pixel to limit certain automatic event-inference and automatic page-data features so that Ruby Thrift maintains greater control over the events sent for advertising measurement.
9. Meta Advanced Matching
Ruby Thrift uses Meta Advanced Matching in a controlled manner for qualifying advertising events.
When a visitor successfully completes a qualifying newsletter signup, Ruby Thrift may provide the email address submitted by that visitor for matching and advertising measurement.
Ruby Thrift's current implementation does not rely on broad automatic website matching to scan unrelated pages for customer identifiers.
Instead, matching information is provided for specifically configured business events where Ruby Thrift has determined that the information is appropriate for advertising measurement.
Customer identifiers such as email may be normalized and hashed for matching before or as part of processing by Meta.
10. Meta Conversions API
Ruby Thrift uses the Meta Conversions API to supplement browser-based Meta Pixel measurement.
The Conversions API allows Ruby Thrift's server to send certain confirmed website events directly to Meta.
For qualifying events, information sent through the Conversions API may include:
- a hashed email identifier;
- IP address;
- browser user-agent information;
- Meta browser identifiers when available;
- the website URL associated with the event;
- event date and time;
- event type;
- a unique event identifier used for measurement and deduplication.
For example, when a confirmed new newsletter signup occurs, Ruby Thrift may report the Lead event through both:
- the browser-based Meta Pixel; and
- the server-based Meta Conversions API.
When the same business action is reported through both channels, Ruby Thrift uses a shared event identifier so Meta can recognize the browser and server reports as the same underlying event and avoid counting the same conversion twice.
Ruby Thrift's server-side advertising integrations are designed so that a failure or outage involving an advertising provider does not prevent the underlying Ruby Thrift customer action from completing successfully.
11. Meta Browser Identifiers
Meta technologies may create or use browser identifiers or first-party cookies associated with website activity.
When legitimately available in a visitor's browser session, Ruby Thrift may provide Meta browser identifiers through the Conversions API to improve event matching and attribution.
Ruby Thrift does not intentionally fabricate Meta browser identifiers when they are not present.
12. Advertising Audiences and Remarketing
Ruby Thrift may use website activity collected through advertising technologies to create or use advertising audiences where permitted.
For example, Ruby Thrift may create audiences consisting of:
- all Ruby Thrift website visitors;
- visitors to the Locations page;
- visitors to Ruby Thrift blog content;
- visitors to donation information;
- visitors to live-shopping content;
- visitors to advertising campaign pages;
- people who completed a confirmed newsletter Lead event.
Ruby Thrift may use advertising audiences to:
- remarket appropriate Ruby Thrift content;
- measure advertising effectiveness;
- tailor campaign messaging based on previous interactions;
- exclude people who have already completed the requested action.
For example, confirmed newsletter subscribers may be excluded from a campaign whose purpose is to obtain new newsletter subscribers.
Audience availability, retention periods, eligibility, minimum audience sizes, and permitted uses depend on the rules of the relevant advertising platform.
13. Traffic Sources and Campaign Measurement
Ruby Thrift may use analytics and campaign-tracking information to understand how visitors reach our website.
For example, URLs used in advertising, social media, email, QR codes, or promotional campaigns may contain tracking parameters such as:
- campaign source;
- campaign medium;
- campaign name;
- campaign content or creative identifier.
This information helps Ruby Thrift understand which marketing channels and campaigns are effective.
We may also receive referral information automatically when another website sends a visitor to Ruby Thrift.
14. Website Search
Ruby Thrift does not currently provide a full on-site search experience.
Certain search-style website controls may direct visitors to Ruby Thrift's Help Center or other resources.
Ruby Thrift does not currently send the Meta standard Search advertising event because a true on-site search feature has not yet been implemented.
If Ruby Thrift implements a full search feature in the future, we may update our analytics and advertising measurement practices accordingly.
15. Google Search and Search Console
Ruby Thrift uses Google Search Console and related Google services to understand how Ruby Thrift appears in Google Search.
Search Console may provide aggregated information such as:
- Google search queries;
- impressions;
- clicks;
- click-through rates;
- search positions;
- landing pages.
This information helps Ruby Thrift understand how people discover our website through organic search.
16. Website Security and Cloudflare Turnstile
Ruby Thrift uses Cloudflare Turnstile and other security measures to help distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse and protect website forms and services.
These technologies may process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, and information associated with a security request.
Security information may also be logged when necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, attacks, failed submissions, or technical problems.
17. How We Use Information
Ruby Thrift may use information collected through the website to:
- operate and maintain the website;
- respond to questions and requests;
- manage newsletter subscriptions;
- send communications requested or authorized by visitors;
- provide information about donations, shopping, locations, events, promotions, or community programs;

19. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

If applicable privacy laws provide rights concerning these activities, Ruby Thrift will honor those rights as required by law.
Ruby Thrift may update its consent, preference, or advertising controls as legal requirements and the geographic scope of its advertising activities evolve.
